The girl with the dragon tattoo : Movie review

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, directed by David Fincher is certainly worth watching as long as you don't compare it to the original. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is a murder thriller and is the first in the best selling Millennium trilogy by the late Swedish author Stieg Larsson.

The Swedish version of the film came out nearly two years ago and was an instant hit in Europe, America and Canada. Though critics might say that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is not as good as the original, it still manages to hold its own.

Story :

Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig), publisher of a Swedish investigative magazine, Millennium, is disgraced and bankrupt after losing a libel case brought in by a crooked tycoon (Ulf Friberg). He picks up a job offered by industrialist Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer), who not only offers him good money, but also gives him the chance to take revenge against the tycoon.

Blomkvist was earlier told that he had to write Vanger's memoir, but soon he realises that he has been hired to solve the four-decade-old disappearance of Vanger's teenage niece (Lisbeth Salander).

Fincher makes sure that the suspense builds with every sequence as Bloomkvist and his young co-worker dig deeper into the disappearance.
